About
The Department of Natural Compounds, Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry is a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Chemistry at National Research Tomsk State University focused on training highly qualified personnel for educational, research and innovative and industrial activities in the field of natural raw chemistry, biotechnology, biological and medicinal chemistry and for solving urgent problems in the development of Russia in the following areas:
- active longevity;
- healthy nutrition;
- personalized medicine;
- genomic technologies.
Scientific research
Immunology and fundamental cell and molecular biology:
- immune cell metabolism;
- imaging of intracellular processes;
- biomarkers of chronic inflammation;
- viral and genetic constructs;
- test-systems for immunocompatibility of new biomaterials.
Oncology research:
- genetic analysis of patients with lung, breast, gastrointestinal, and ovarian cancer;
- analysis of monocyte and tumor-associated macrophage transcriptional programs of patients;
- validation of biomarkers in tumor tissues of patients.
Cardiology research:
- immunopathology of myocarditis of infectious and noninfectious nature, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and heart failure;
- validation of biomarkers in patients' monocytes.
Pharmaceutical chemistry and development of materials for regenerative medicine:
- fine organic synthesis of pharmaceutical substances;
- innovative polymeric biocompatible materials with immunomodulatory properties;
- scaffolds for cell therapy;
- development of drug delivery systems.
Physicochemical analysis and quality control:
- metabolomic analysis;
- techniques for the analysis of organic compounds;
- physico-chemical analysis of plant raw materials
